The Falcons-Steelers Aftermath Linkage

Now that we’ve had some time to digest what transpired at Heinz Field, let’s take a spin around the web and measure the reaction from those in the know.

Pat Yasinskas of ESPN is not happy with the Falcons’ performance and questions what Falcons really do.

If you truly aspire to be a playoff team, you don’t go on the road and lose 15-9 in overtime to a Pittsburgh Steelers team that’s playing its third-string quarterback. With Ben Roethlisberger suspended and Byron Leftwich out, Matt Ryan easily should have been the best quarterback on the field.

D. Orlando Ledbetter of the AJC talked to Sean Weatherspoon about his first regular season game.

Weatherspoon said his first game in the NFL will leave him with bittersweet memories because all he could do was watch helplessly as Rashard Mendenhall raced 50 yards for the winning touchdown on the Steelers’ first play from scrimmage in the overtime.

Frank Tadych of NFL Network breaks down the Troy Polamalu interception of Matt Ryan. “You asked with your eyes, Matt. You asked with your eyes.”

Ryan didn’t read the disguise, and Polamalu made the interception.

Some trickery from LeBeau that might otherwise go unnoticed, along with Rashard Mendenhall’s 50-yard touchdown run on the Steelers’ first play from scrimmage in overtime, led directly to a win.

And finally, Chris Chase of Yahoo! Sports covers all the important Falcon injuries.
