Deion Sanders Eligible For Hall Of Fame But Where Does He Rank?

Former Atlanta Falcon and current NFL Network analyst, Deion Sanders, is up for selection into the Pro Football Hall of Fame when the 2011 class is announced on Feb. 5, 2011. The preliminary list names 113 candidates but only up to seven will be enshrined in Canton.

Sanders is obviously a front-runner alongside Curtis Martin, Marshall Faulk and Jerome Bettis but where does he stand using only his time as a member of the Falcons? In five seasons in Atlanta, Sanders made three Pro Bowls and was named first-team All-Pro twice. Looking at the cornerbacks during Sanders' stay in Georgia, here's my list.

Based on shutdown coverage skills alone, Sanders would be #1. However, taking into account everything a cornerback brings to the field as a football player, Sanders slips to #3. He'll go into the Hall on the first ballot but it will likely be in a uniform that features a star on the helmet.
