Per Chris Vivlamore of the AJC, Patrice Cormier will be out with a broken foot suffered when he blocked a shot during yesterday’s scrimmage. Also, Jim Slater is day-to-day with a wrist injury, Andrew Kozek is out with a sports hernia, and Ian McKenzie is day to day with a groin strain.
↵This is unfortunate news for Cormier considering the young center had a great chance of making the opening night roster going in to the camp. He still does, but he’ll miss experience with the team and in the preseason games, which’ll impact the coaches’ evaluation. Playing against a different squad in an NHL arena is a whole new ballgame as compared to playing at the Duluth Ice Forum.
