The Falcons Score Three Touchdowns And Lead 24-7 At Halftime

New, 2 comments

The Falcons scored on three touchdown drives – all over 70 yards – en route to a 17-point halftime lead against the Cardinals.

Michael Turner rushed for 75 yards on nine carries before leaving with a groin injury. His return is questionable. Jason Snelling kept the offense rolling in Turner’s absence rolling up 93 total yards and two touchdowns.

The Cardinals had a penalty on their first kick return erase a touchdown by LaRod Stephens-Howling. Tim Hightower scored on an 80-yard touchdown run providing the only offense for the Cardinals.

Sean Weatherspoon had his first sack and did what appeared to be a “spoon” dance where he mimicked feeding himself with a spoon. That’s my interpretation anyway. Christopher Owens had the game’s only interception but his return is questionable with a thigh injury.

The Falcons have 21 first downs. The Cardinals have 8.

Under the Mike Smith era, the Falcons are 18-1 when leading at halftime.
