Georgia's Ogletree Allegedly Stole A Helmet, Despite Being A Football Player Who Already Has A Helmet

According to Seth Emerson, Georgia freshman safety Alec Ogletree’s theft charge involves allegedly stealing a $35 helmet.

This is the dumbest crime ever. It would be easy to write a big series of analogies about this being like a [person of a certain vocation] stealing a [object person already uses in that vocation], but how do you top a football player stealing a helmet?

Yes, it probably wasn’t a football helmet. Fine.

UPDATE: Emerson has added new information to the article linked above. It's allegedly a motorcycle helmet that was stolen by someone else in July and was discovered to be in Ogletree's possession, thus making it a hot helmet.
