Final 2010 (2011?) AP Poll standings are out after last night's BCS National Championship Game win by the Auburn Tigers over the Oregon Ducks, and yes the TCU Horned Frogs took second place. Though there was a late push on Twitter last night for AP voters to hand the No. 1 spot to TCU -- yes, they have that option -- due to the ugliness of the title game, the Frogs only managed to collect three votes. Still, three votes ain't bad for a team that didn't get to play for the title.
The LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide also make the top 10, with the Arkansas Razorbacks and Mississippi St. Bulldogs in the top 15. It was a ridiculous year for the SEC West, and it's only fitting the national champion came from the best division in college football since ... help me out here.
South Carolina is the only SEC East team to make the cut.
The ACC made a better showing on the final rankings than it has on just about any poll all year, even though the Virginia Tech Hokies lost their BCS game. VPI, plus the Florida St. Seminoles, Maryland Terrapins, and N.C. State Wolfpack all make the cut.
