The 2011 East-West Shrine Game will be played Sat., Jan. 22 at 4 pm ET in Orlando, Florida. One of the nation's biggest college football all-star games, the Shrine Game includes Canadian players and is one of the most popular viewing options for NFL scouts professional and amateur alike.
This year's set of rosters includes Georgia Bulldogs ILB Akeem Dent and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets CB Mario Butler, both on the East team.
Other SEC players slated to play: Auburn Tigers kicker Wes Byrum, Florida Gators DE Justin Trattou, LSU Tigers OT Joseph Barksdale and WR Terrence Toliver, Mississippi Rebels DT Ted Laurent, and South Carolina Gamecocks FB Patrick DiMarco and DE Cliff Matthews.
The ACC will also be repped by Clemson Tigers OT Christian Hairston, Maryland Terrapins RB Da'Rel Scott, Miami Hurricanes RB Graig Cooper and CB Demarcus Van Dyke, and Virginia Tech Hokies QB Tyrod Taylor.
Barksdale, DiMarco, Laurent, and Scott are on the West team with all the Canadians, for some reason. There is absolutely nothing west about College Park, Maryland.
