Sadly, Thrashers fans won’t have a chance to see Dustin Byfuglien and Tobias Enstrom pair up at the All-Star Game in Raleigh. Actually, it might be a little while before fans see the two pair up anywhere. The NHL’s released a press release announcing Enstrom’s absence from the ASG.
↵↵↵Tobias Enstrom has had a great start to the 2010-11 season and is one of the biggest reasons the Atlanta Thrashers are in contention for an Eastern Conference playoff spot.
↵For a little while, however, they’ll have to get along without him. Enstrom broke a finger on his right hand blocking a shot Saturday against the New York Rangers, sidelining him for 2-4 weeks, and keeping him out of his first All-Star Game.

The weather makes saying “when it rains, it pours” redundant, but it’s still true. At least Byfuglien is still expected to compete in the game, which will feature a unique team-selection format for the first time. Captains will choose up players, just like middle school.
