Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Vs. Virginia Tech Hokies: Tech Looks To Bounce Back At Home Against The Hokies

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (9-9, 2-3 ACC) will look to bounce back from a loss at Virginia tonight at home against Virginia Tech. Tech is undefeated at home in ACC play (2-0) and is 7-2 overall at home. The reoccurring theme at home for the Jackets has been their strong defensive play. The Yellow Jackets held North Carolina and Wake Forrest to a combined 26.8 percent shooting and also forced 36 turnovers. To date, the Yellow Jackets have been unable to duplicate that performance on the road. 

The good news for Tech is that they play four of their next five games at home beginning with tonight's match-up with the Hokies. Virginia Tech (13-5, 3-2 ACC) has conference wins over Florida State, Wake Forrest, and Maryland. The Hokies have won three straight games and nine of their last ten contests. 

Virginia Tech is led by senior guard Malcolm Delaney who is averaging 18.9 points per game while shooting 43% from three point range. Senior forward Jeff Allen provides the Hokies some inside muscle averaging 11.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. 

The Yellow Jackets are led by do-everything guard Iman Shumpert who has elevated his game during conference play. Overall Shumpert is averaging 16.5 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. In conference play, Shumpert is scoring over 18 points a game and recorded a career high 30 points against North Carolina. 

Virginia Tech has is 10-3 lifetime against Georgia Tech and is 6-2 as a member of the ACC.
