Coming off of a double overtime loss to Charlotte last Sunday, Georgia Tech returns to action Saturday afternoon in their ACC opener against the Boston College Eagles. The Jackets enter the game with a 7-6 record, while the Eagles are 11-4 and 1-0 in the conference.
Boston College has won 8 of their last 10 games, including a big win at Maryland in mid-December. The Eagles have a new coach this year, Steve Donahue, who has his team off to a hot start.
Georgia Tech has struggled in true road games the last few years, including this one. The Jackets have lost all three of their road games this year, and will be looking to reverse that trend against the Eagles.
Boston College traveled to Atlanta last year in the teams' only meeting of the season, falling by a score of 73-68. Guard Iman Shumpert led the Jackets with 24 points.
Tech leads the series record 8-4, with 10 of the match-ups finishing with a single digit margin.
The Jackets last won an ACC opener that was on the road in 1992 against Maryland.
The game tips off at 4 p.m. EST. It can be seen on FS South and heard on 790 the Zone. For more on Georgia Tech basketball, head to From The Rumble Seat.
