Kennesaw State Basketball Vs. Wisconsin: Owls Travel To Kohl Center To Face Badgers

Kennesaw State begins its 2011-12 basketball season on the road in Wisconsin where they will take on the Badgers.

Kennesaw State opens its 2011-12 season on Saturday on the road against against No. 14 Wisconsin. The game will be the debut of new head coach Lewis Preston.

The Owls struggled last season to a 6-14 finish in the conference and the eventual dismissal of Tony Ingle. However, coach Preston doesn't have to completely start over thanks to the return of leading scorer Markeith Cummings who led the Atlantic Sun in scoring last season at 18.3 a game.

Also back for the Owls is senior backcourt led by point guard Spencer Dixon and Romain Henry. The Owls also get back last season's leading rebounder in 6-foot-9 junior forward LaDaris Green.

The Owls face a tough task against Wisconsin who is ranked and intent on building off of last season's 25-9 record. The Badgers are an astonishing 154-11 at home under Bo Ryan and finished undefeated last season at 16-0. Point guard Jordan Taylor returns to man the point for the Badgers after averaging 18.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists last season.
