Week 14 NFL Lines And Odds: Falcons Vs. Panthers

Getty Images

The Atlanta Falcons are trying to rebound off of a depressing 17-10 loss to the Houston Texans who were down to their third-string quarterback in T.J. Yates, and were without their top wide receiver Andre Johnson. Taking on the Carolina Panthers could just be what the Falcons are needing to get back into the win column. The Panthers have lost three of their last five games, but have won their last two games. The Panthers 39-19 win over the Tampa Buccaneers was impressive and with that win coupled with their two-game winning streak is a reason why the odds makers have Atlanta as a field goal favorite.

There is good news on the injury front for the Falcons as they are heading into this game very healthy. Wide receivers Roddy White, Julio Jones and Harry Douglas are all listed as probable as is running back Michael Turner; all four players are expected to play. The Panthers secondary is middle of the pack and give up 230 yards per game, so this could be a good opportunity for the Falcons to have a good day passing the ball.

The Falcons are needing to win this game to keep their place atop with NFC Wild Card teams. The Falcons are sitting at  7-5 with the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears, plus the New York Giants are 6-6.
