Jadeveon Clowney Announces South Carolina Commitment Over Clemson, Alabama

Jadeveon Clowney, sporting a garnet button-up and black tie, announced his commitment to play for the South Carolina Gamecocks next year live on SportsCenter. With a big smile, he reached to put on a Cocks hat, immediately taking it back off because the young brother does have really nice hair and all.

This is not a surprise -- he's been expected to pick Carolina over the Clemson Tigers or Alabama Crimson Tide all along. But it's still very big news for Steve Spurrier and company, as his 2011 recruiting class is now right up there with the Florida Gators and Tennessee Volunteers in the SEC East, and he's added a monstrous talent to an already competent defense.

Clowney was the nation's top-ranked 2011 recruit, if you're just now joining us. Clemson and Bama ain't hurting without Clowney, but this is a very nice get for Carolina.
