Georgia Tech Vs. Virginia Final Score: Tech Falls 62-56 To The Cavaliers

Virginia’s Mustapha Farrakhan scored five of his 17 points in the final five minutes giving the Cavaliers the lead. Virginia went on to defeat Georgia Tech by a score of 62-56.

Tech was without Brian Oliver for the fifth consecutive game because of a broken thumb. Second leading scorer Glen Rice Jr was benched for a disciplinary issue and only played fourteen minutes. Rice scored his only two points of the game in the final minute of action.

Iman Shumpert led Tech with 12 points. Maurice Miller and Jason Morris had ten points each. Morris got the start in place of Rice.

The Yellow Jackets fall to 3-10 in the ACC just two games ahead of last place Wake Forrest. It is becoming more and more apparent that what has become a lost season can’t end fast enough.

Tech has three ACC games remaining before the conference tournament. The Yellow Jackets are on the road to face N.C. State and Wake Forrest before wrapping up the regular season at home against Miami. The last place Deamon Deacons may prove to be Tech’s best chance at snapping a current seven game losing streak in ACC contests.
