South Carolina Vs. Georgia: Bulldogs Look To Get Back In The Win Column Against The Gamecocks

Just 48 hours after a disappointing loss at Florida, Georgia will look to get back in the win column when they play host to South Carolina. Georgia defeated the Gamecocks earlier this season by building a commanding 28-9 lead at the half. However, the Bulldogs had to hold on late to pull out a 66-61 victory in that match-up.

As in that earlier meeting with South Carolina, Georgia has been battling some offensive woes in the second half of games. The Bulldogs built a 33-26 lead Thursday night in Gainesville but couldn't hold it as they were outscored 45-29 in the second half. Two games ago, Georgia was held scoreless for the final nine minutes of the game against Vanderbilt. Even in its most recent win again Tennessee, Georgia watched an early lead evaporate in the second half.

Georgia has one eye looking towards the NCAA Tournament and can ill-afford a slip up at home against a 14-12 South Carolina squad. The Gamecocks defeated Ole Miss this past Wednesday which snapped a five game losing streak. Overall South Carolina is 5-8 in SEC play and is 3-7 over its last ten games.

Georgia leads the all-time series by a slim 48-47 count. Lifetime the Bulldogs are 28-15 in Athens against the Gamecocks.

Tip off for the game is scheduled for 7 p.m. and can be seen locally on Fox Sports South.
