The Atlanta Braves (0-0) play host to the New York Mets (0-0) in the Spring Training home opener for Atlanta. Game time is set for 1:05.
Braves Lineup:
1. Martin Prado, LF
2. Jordan Schafer, CF
3. Chipper Jones, DH
4. Dan Uggla, 2B
5. Freddie Freeman, 1B
6. Alex Gonzalez, SS
7. David Ross, C
8. Joe Mather, RF
9. Shawn Bowman, 3B
Rodrigo Lopez, Mike Minor, Brandon Beachy
This is pretty much the lineup I was expecting for the players planned to play. Prado is manning his usual leadoff spot, Schafer is second mainly to keep the position at second in the order, Jones takes his usual third and Uggla is cleanup. No prospects to remember today as far as right now, but it isn't known yet who will take the field.
Lopez, Minor and Beachy will get two innings each. I wouldn't pay much attention to the fact that they are all pitching the same day. It is more than likely done to keep the rotation the same. Start paying attention to where and when they are pitched in mid-March.
The Mets are split-squadding it, and the Braves seem to be getting the lesser of the two. Those worth watching as they face Minor and Beachy are Angel Pagan, Daniel Murphy, Ike Davis, Scott Hairston and Ruben Tejada. Chris Young and Oliver Perez are pitching the early innings.
