2011 Georgia State Football Rosters: Drew Little, Star Jackson Battle For QB Job

Now that National Signing Day is in the rear view, we start taking a look at the Panthers football roster as it is currently constructed, projected movement up or down the depth chart, and who could be moving on to another destination.  Today, we take a look at the starting quarterback race.

Starter - RS Sophmore Drew Little: Little was a mild suprise to start last year's opener, but people who follow the program closely were not shocked.  He put time in and lost weight (was rumored to be as heavy as 260 pounds at one point).  He played at 245 pounds in 2010 and is likely to show up for Spring drills at 235 or so.  Little put up very good stats as a RS Freshman completing 62 percent of his passes for 2102 yards and finished with 22 total TDs.

Back Up - RS Sophmore Kelton Hill: Hill was the designated Wildcat QB on the Panthers roster and had very good success in that formation.  Hill was the Panthers leading rusher with 419 yards on 60 carries.  Good news if he wants to move to RB; not so much if he has to earn a spot with his arm, considering he only threw 15 total passes in 2010.  He will have every have opportuity to prove he can throw the ball with accuracy as Little will be suspended for all of Spring practice and for the first four games of 2011.  Will Kelton step up and grab the starting job?
Left the Program: Junior Star Jackson
