Josh Powell Arrested For Unspecified Traffic Infraction Before Atlanta Hawks Game

Al Horford was not the only one who missed Saturday night's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Josh Powell was out too. He was arrested on an unspecified traffic charge while driving down to Philips Arena before the game.

The Atlanta backup center is being held on a $300 bond at the Fulton County Jail according to the jail's online records.

"We were made aware of a traffic incident that occurred en route to [Powell] coming to the game, reportedly near the arena," Hawks VP of Public Relations Arthur Triche told the AJC's Michael Cunningham. "That's as much as we know about the situation at this time. We do understand charges have been filed but beyond that we have no further comment."

Obviously, if the bond is only $300 Powell didn't do a heck of a lot, which makes you wonder why the heck he got arrested in the first place and not released prior to the game. We will obviously update you when we know more about why Powell was arrested.
