The WNBA's Atlanta Dream will be traveling to Europe to take on the Standard Life Great Britain women's basketball team on May 29. The Dream will become the first WNBA team to every play a game in Europe and will be the participating in only the second WNBA game every played outside the United States. The game will take place at the Manchester Evening News Arena.
↵This news comes on the heels of Great Britain announcement that Great Britain's mens and women teams will participate in the 2012 Olympics. The Standard Life GB Women recently qualified for Eurobasket 2011 for the first time in team history. They are led by Jo Leedham who was drafted by the WNBA's Connecticut Sun in 2010.
↵The Atlanta Dream is the defending Eastern Conference Champion of the WNBA and will kick off its regular season play on June 5 against the New York Liberty at Philips Arena.
