The Atlanta Braves are split-squadding it for the last time this spring, traveling to play the Philadelphia Phillies and hosting the Detroit Tigers. Brandon Beachy and Rodrigo Lopez are getting the starts.
Braves Lineup vs. Phillies:
1. Martin Prado, LF
2. Nate McLouth, CF
3. Brian McCann, C
4. Wilkin Ramirez, RF
5. Freddie Freeman, 1B
6. Ed Lucas, SS
7. Brooks Conrad, 2B
8. Brandon Hicks, 3B
9. Rodrigo Lopez, SP
According to this lineup, the Braves are throwing everything out there in the final days for an infield spot. Lucas is at shortstop, which is pretty big for him because that is the one area in question as he tries to make the team in a utility role. Conrad is still vying for a spot, while Hicks is on the outside looking in.
Ramirez getting a start and hitting fourth shows the Braves are likely still looking at him seriously. I don't think he will make the team, but it shows they are serious about him.
The Braves are facing Joe Blanton of the Phillies. The heart of the Phillies order is starting, including Shane Victorino, Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Howard.
The night game won't have details until later due to it being a 6:05 start. The post will be updated.
