Dominique Wilkins Attacked By Fan After Magic-Hawks Game

Dominique Wilkins was attacked by a man named Rashan S. Michel after Wednesday night's game at Philips Arena between the Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic. Wilkins is fine after being punched in the chest, and Michel was arrested by the Atlanta Police Department and charged with one count of simple battery.

The man also elected to hit a security guard. Some said Wilkins and Michel "traded punches" during the scuffle, leading Twitter to produce some highly entertaining material on the wisdom of punching a six-foot-eight pro athlete from the Southeast.

Here's where it gets awesome! Michel claimed Wilkins owes him money for some suits. That's a common claim levied against athletes ranging from Joe Johnson to Dez Bryant, but I've never heard it raised against a NBA team vice president and Hall of Famer.

Wilkins commentated the game for Fox Sports South as is custom. The Hawks won to take the season series against the Magic, and everybody was pretty happy until somebody went and punched Dominique Wilkins.
