Well, not the real team, of course. They’re currently on their way to Carolina to take on the Hurricanes tomorrow. No, instead Winnipeg has a AAA-midget hockey team called the Winnipeg Thrashers. Which is cute, because that’s as close as they’ll ever get to getting a team named the Thrashers.
↵The highlight of this is that the team uses the Atlanta Thrashers font and logo, probably without permission, and without any disclaimer stating so. If the Atlanta Spirit’s lawyers weren’t currently suing each other, I’d consider this to be a little amuse bouche for the millionaires.
