New Miami basketball coach Jim Larranaga is busy filling out his coaching staff, and there is a chance that it might include former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets star Kenny Anderson. Larranaga said in a radio interview Monday that he has talked to the one-time Atlanta Hawks point guard and plans to meet with him later this week.
Anderson first expressed an interest in getting into the coaching profession during Georgia Tech's search for a head coach to replace Paul Hewitt. Anderson told AJC writer Doug Roberson that he knew he was inexperienced but would like to be a part of the program.
"I know with my inexperience on the sidelines in college, I don't need to be a head coach, but I would love to be a part of the program in some form or fashion,"
Georgia Tech went on to hire Brian Gregory to replace Paul Hewitt there was no mention of Anderson being a part of the coaching staff. Now it appears he may get his shot with Larranaga at Miami.
