Atlanta Braves pitcher Derek Lowe was arrested Thursday night for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a report by CBS Atlanta. Lowe was reportedly stopped on one or another Peachtree Road around 10 pm ET and taken to Atlanta city jail before being bonded out Friday morning. CBS Atlanta also has video at that link of Lowe leaving Atlanta City Jail, reportedly "chatty" with his bail bondsman.
After a field sobriety test, Lowe was arrested and put in a cell for the evening. No word on his blood alcohol content at this point. Also no comment from the team yet.
The pitcher has been a member of the Braves since 2009, starting six games so far this season. The Braves just got back in town from a long California road trip. Pretty bad week for the Braves off the diamond after the Roger McDowell incident and now this.
