Caleb King, A.J. Harmon Academic Ineligiblity Rumor Is A Rumor

Rumors abound, as rumors do, that RB Caleb King and OT A.J. Harmon will be ruled academically ineligible to participate in the 2011 Georgia Bulldogs football season. Mark Richt has said there won't be any actual news on the matter until Monday, referring to the rumors as rumors.

Losing King would be a pretty newsworthy deal, as the team earlier this week let two-time team rushing champ Washaun Ealey go. How much do you trust freshman Isaiah Crowell, along with Carlton Thomas and Ken Malcome, to carry UGA's running game? But the loss of Harmon would be far worse for the Dawgs, with Trinton Sturdivant's season-ending injury giving Harmon a chance to compete for a starting job.

Both players had to skip the Liberty Bowl due to academic reasons, so the mind can grasp the possibility of them failing to shape up their grades in time for the 2011 season. Dawg Sports is more troubled by the potential loss of King than it was of Ealey's departure.
