Tom Glavine has only been rumored to be interested in purchasing a share of the Atlanta Thrashers to prevent a move, but that didn't stop one intrepid CBC reporter from insisting that Glavine was a potential investor in the Thrashers. He was just too gosh darn polite to correct her.
He tries his best to talk the market up while admitting that hockey fans aren't quite omnipresent like they are in other locales. Still, though - couldn't that issue be traced back to the Atlanta Spirit Group and the fact that their marketing department's practically two paid employees and a bunch of interns? I think that has more to do with anything than Southerners not understanding the game or Atlanta not being a hockey town or some such hooey like that.
