The 137th running of the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs concluded Friday evening with Plum Pretty taking the lilies and the winner's share of the $1 million purse in front of an announced crowd of 110,000. The finish of the fillies' race preceding the Kentucky Derby also included St. John's River and Zazu, who finished a narrow second and slightly more distant third respectively.
Despite the outside draw, the streaking Joyful Victory came into the Ladies Day race as the slight favorite over Zazu and Kathmanblu, but finished fourth. Suave Voir Faire entered the starting area as the 50/1 longshot.
