2011 College World Series: South Carolina, Florida, Vandy Await Final CWS Teams

Every 2011 NCAA baseball Super Regional that included a SEC team sent a SEC team to the College World Series, with the Florida Gators, Vanderbilt Commodores and South Carolina Gamecocks reaching Omaha. The Mississippi St. Bulldogs fell short of stealing their second-straight road series of the tournament, but they fell to Florida, so the conference came out all right.

A pair of Round 1 matchups are already set, with Vandy drawing UNC and Florida taking on Texas.

Vanderbilt's bats could do damage against the Heels, as the Dores boast the CWS' highest batting average and Carolina trots out the field's highest ERA. Florida's dependence on the long ball, which has only picked up as of late, will be an interesting factor against the team with the nation's second-best pitching.

Round 1 College World Series TV schedule:

Saturday, June 18:

Vanderbilt Commodores vs. North Carolina Tar Heels, 2, ESPN

Florida Gators vs. Texas Longhorns, 7, ESPN

Sunday, June 19:

California Golden Bears vs. Virginia Cavaliers or UC Irvine Anteaters, 2, ESPN

South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Florida St. Seminoles or Texas A&M Aggies, 7, ESPN2
