NCAA Baseball Scores, Schedule: Florida Knocks Off Texas, Vandy Awaits

The second round of the 2011 College World Series' first bracket is set, with the Florida Gators having surprised the Texas Longhorns, 8-4. They'll get the Vanderbilt Commodores at 7 pm ET Monday after the Dores pummeled the North Carolina Tar Heels, 7-3. Texas and UNC will meet in the sadface bracket at 2 pm ET Monday, with the loser leaving Omaha. Or they could stay and watch.

Alligator Army has a complete wrapup of Florida's impressive surge against Texas' elite defense -- the Horns haven't given up that many runs in one game since March, and that's including 17 postseason outings. And they did it without belting any of their trademark home runs, though Brian Johnson swatted a three-run homer in the seventh that was incorrectly ruled a two-run ground rule double.

Florida fans, check in with Anchor Of Gold's CWS coverage for more on your next opponent, though the two teams have already met four times this season. The Gators won thrice, with a 22-18 run differential in favor of the Dores.

The 2010 champion (still not used to saying it!) South Carolina Gamecocks are ready to begin their title defense against Texas A&M in the Sunday nighter, preceded by a game between an ACC team and a team from the other side of the world.

Sunday's College World Series schedule:

Cal vs. Virginia, 2, ESPN

South Carolina vs. Texas A&M, 7, ESPN2
