Life is pretty good for Julio Teheran and Arodys Vizcaino.
The two right-handed pitchers were selected for the Futures Game this morning and both will be representing the World team. Teheran made the team last season, while this will be Vizcaino's first appearance.
So what is the Futures Game? It's part of the All-Star Game festivities and is generally played the day before the Mid-Summer Classic takes place. Pitchers (and I'm guessing Julio Teheran will be the starter) tend to only pitch one or two innings, but it gives them great exposure to the national media and gives them a feel for playing in a Major League stadium. Same goes with hitters, only they get a few at-bats before leaving the game.
A big congratulations to both of our talented pitchers. Making the Futures Game is no easy task and only the best in the Minor Leagues get to attend the event. Here is a complete roster for the US Team and World Team.
The game is usually televised on the ESPN network.
Stay tuned to SB Nation Atlanta and Talking Chop for complete updates and analysis on Teheran, Vizcaino and the rest of our promising prospects.
