Georgia State football continues to roar on the recruiting trail and have offered three more scholarships for the 2012 recruiting cycle in WR Ghierry van der Kuyp, LB Andy Garcia and CB Adrian Burton per Chris Nee of Rivals.com.
Van der Kuyp is a 6'2, 180lbs X wide receiver out of Hialeah HS in Hialeah, FL. He has very good hands and above average speed. Ghierry is a very good route runner at this stage and has the ability to get behind corners. He registered more than 1000 all purpose yards, scored nine touchdowns and played WR, QB and Safety for the Thoroughbreds in 2010. He also has offers from Nebraska, Maryland and a handful of MAC schools.
Junior Highlights:
Garcia is a 6'0, 217lbs middle linebacker prospect who also hails from Hialeah HS. He has tremendous speed (reportedly ran a 4.6 in the 40 yard dash at 217lbs) and is known across South Florida for his speed and strength. Andy has been called a "throwback" type of football players who is likely to fit right in to coach Bill Curry's team. He piled up guady stats in 2010 with 111 tackles, 12 sacks, 38 tackles for loss, 7 forced fumbles and 6 passes broken up. He also has offers from Kentucky, Vanderbilt and multiple MAC and Sun Belt conference schools.
Junior Highlights:
Burton is a 5'10, 175lbs cornerback out of Blanche Ely HS in Pompano Beach, Florida. He has very good feet and quick hip turn (as shown in his Nike Camp film HERE). He fits the style well of a press coverage cornerback and will remind Panther fans as a younger D'Mario Gunn. Adrian also holds offers from Indiana, Southern Miss and multiple MAC schools.
Junior Highlights:
The Panthers have already secured four verbal commitments in WR Robert Theus, LB Joseph Peterson, OG Aaron Thomas and OLB Bryan Williams this month. Georgia State football is expected to sign 16-18 players next February.
