Per Keith Niebuhr of Rivals.com, Georgia State football landed its fifth verbal commitment of the 2012 recruiting cycle this morning in RB Jonathan Jean-Bart out of Henry County HS in McDonough.
The 5'10, 192lbs power back has very good vision and quickness for his size. He is truly an under the radar guy but performed well at this summer's Under Armour camp in Atlanta which caught the coaching staffs eye and grabbed an offer. Jon had offers from Ball State and FCS Gardner-Webb.
Derrick Mahone of the Clayton News Daily gave us this scouting report on Jean-Bart:
He has played varsity since his sophomore season. Coach Mike Rozier nominated him for honorable mention All-Southern Crescent (Clayton & Henry counties school). Hasn't used him as much because of other offensive weapons, but does has pass-catching and running skills because of the team's offensive skills.
2010 stats: 11 games - 69 carries, 366 yards, 5 TDs rushing
13 catches, 158 yards, 2 TDs receiving
Junior Highlights:
Jean-Bart joins verbal commitments WR Robert Theus, LB Joseph Peterson, OG Aaron Thomas and OLB Bryan Williams this month. Georgia State football is expected to sign 16-18 players next February.
