Charles Mann Commits To Georgia Basketball Over FSU, Georgia Tech, Others

Georgia Basketball picked up a much needed high profile commitment from Milton High's Charles Mann. The 6-foot-5 point guard is considered by many as the No. 1 point guard in the state's 2012 class. Mann averaged 22 points a game last season for Union Grove High School but transferred this season to play at Milton. The timing couldn't be more perfect for Mann with both Dustin Ware and Gerald Robinson graduating after this season with the Bulldogs.

"The most important thing about UGA is that it’s close to home, so my friends and family can watch me play," Mann told the AJC. "It was down to Georgia and Florida State. Georgia has two point guards leaving after this season, giving me a great chance to come in and start. I’ve built a great relationship with the coaches, and I felt like Georgia was the best place for me."

Georgia was but one of 24 schools to offer Mann scholarships. Among those were offers from reigning National Champion Connecticut and in state rival Georgia Tech. Mann whittled that list down to two finalists in Georgia and Florida State with Mark Fox and the Bulldogs winning out.
