Noel Devine To Atlanta Falcons, According To Undrafted Free Agent Rumors

According to ... well, Twitter, the Atlanta Falcons have signed West Virginia Mountaineers weapon Noel Devine. If true, this is awesome. Devine was my most coveted player in the entire 2011 undrafted free agents class.

You say you want to get more explosive, Falcons front office? There isn't a player in the country who can top Devine's deadliness. He has Falcons connections, counting Deion Sanders as a mentor despite putting the Atlanta great through hell a few years ago. Devine has a little bit of a reputation for bad behavior, but he hasn't caused any trouble in quite some time as far as I know, and he's also been connected to charitable endeavors in his free time. A complicated cat.

Some are calling him a Jacquizz Rodgers clone, but that's not really accurate. Rodgers is more of a Maurice Jones-Drew type, while Devine's game is more about burst and speed. Rodgers never fumbles, while Devine can lose his handle. Rodgers could potentially be an every-down back, while Devine would likely best be used in a Reggie Bush role.

Both are versatile, though, and adding both to a backfield that includes Michael Turner would give Mike Mularkey plenty of options. Devine making the team would also assure the end of the Jerious Norwood era, for anybody who was still hanging on.

To pump the brakes, let's remember there's nothing official from Devine or anybody connected to him here. Man oh man oh man oh man.
