Dawgs247.com is reporting Georgia Bulldogs DE/LB Brandon Burrows is likely to miss the upcoming season after having shoulder surgery. Though he's active on Twitter, he hasn't said anything that would confirm or deny the report.
The redshirt freshman was expected to provide inside linebacker depth, which could prove critical with the statuses of Jarvis Jones and Kent Turene up in the air, along with the conversion of Richard Samuel to running back. Not all of those players play the same position as Burrows, of course, but each little bit of missing linebacker depth can't help but affect the entire unit one way or another. It could also pose problems for special teams.
Burrows played on the scout team in 2010. He suffered a pretty serious knee injury while playing as a senior at Walton High School in Marietta.
