NFL Free Agency: Ray Edwards Still A Falcons Target

The Falcons now appear to have renewed interest in free agent Ray Edwards, according to a report made by D. Orlando Ledbetter. Several other teams are rumored to be interested in the Minnesota defensive end, including the Browns and Titans.

As talks with OT Tyson Clabo are still ongoing, you have to think the Falcons are keeping their options open. Clabo has been priority No. 1 for the Falcons all offseason. If rumors that he’ll sign with the Bills turn out to be true, then you can bet the Falcons will be looking to spend that money elsewhere, namely Ray Edwards.

As the Falcons watched Jason Babin sign with the Eagles and Mathias Kiwanuka re-sign with the Giants earlier today, Edwards became the last impact DE available on the free agent. Though a Ray Edwards signing might seem like the Falcons’ backup plan, he would certainly still fill a key need on defense.
