While Fall practice is still nearly one week away, the Georgia State football coaching staff has wasted no time putting quality players in the pipeline for the 2012 recruiting cycle. According to Keith Niebuhr or Rivals.com, free safety Chris Jones out of Brooks County HS becomes verbal commit No. 10 for the Panthers this month.
Jones is a 6'1, 180lbs heavy hitter at the FS/Rover position. He has dynamic speed, posting a 10.68 in the 1-AA Area Region Track meet in 2011, and takes very good pursuit angles to the football. He is an impact player on special teams and has the frame to carry 200 pounds with ease.
Junior Highlights:
Jones joins verbal commits ATH Nathan Schuster, OG Garett Gorringe, OT Trevor Flannigan, Safety Alex Reason, RB Jonathan Jean-Bart, WR Robert Theus, LB Joseph Peterson, OG Aaron Thomas and OLB Bryan Williams this month. Georgia State football is expected to sign 18-20 players next February.
