Peachtree Road Race 2011 Start Time, Course Map, Parking And Waves Schedule

Get ready for the 2011 Peachtree Road Race, Atlanta's premier annual sunburn gauntlet and one of the world's finest road races. The 2011 race will hopefully retake the title of World's Largest 10K from the Vancouver Sun Run, which stole the crown from 2008 through 2010. More than 60,000 are expected to run in Atlanta's race Monday.

With the wheelchair race beginning at 6:45 am and footrace waves starting at 7:30 am, expect to see a new winner crowned some time around 8 am. For a complete list of starting wave times, check this complete course and elevation map, from Peachtree and Lenox to Piedmont Park and including that mighty Mile 3 climb, and here's a map of various essentials near the starting area.

For the love of God, take MARTA instead of trying to park near the starting line, as 1.5 Georgia Tech football games worth of traffic will be in the area. Dump your car at the parking deck across the street from Midtown's Arts Center station, the city's best-kept transportation secret, which is just around the corner from the race's finish.
