Dee Hart Injury Leaves 2011 Alabama Backfield With Trent Richardson, Little Else

Oh Alabama Crimson Tide football, your problems are quite different from everybody else's problems. While we feel bad for Dee Hart himself, as the prized five-star recruit will have to miss the entire 2011 football season due to an ACL injury, taking a look at the rest of Bama's backfield and seeing Heisman Trophy contender Trent Richardson ready to roll -- yeah, I'm not too torn up about Nick Saban's depth chart.

However, this does mean Alabama is without a possible change-of-pace and third-down back, and is down to only two scholarship running backs besides Richardson. The larger concern is that Hart's development could be impaired further into his career in Tuscaloosa -- Saban's Tide have a strong tailback legacy to continue once Richardson moves along to the NFL, and many have pegged Hart as the likeliest successor.
