Couple hours late on this one, but it's still important. The St. Louis Rams, who've been attached to every Atlanta Falcons free agent since time began, are now looking into Ronnie Brown in addition to Falcons RB Jason Snelling, Michael Lombardi reports. Lombardi says they're also looking for a nickel CB -- the dream of the Rams acquiring Falcons CB Brian Williams to complete the set is alive.
I confirmed from both Rams and League sources that FB/short yardage back Jason Snelling was never an option for the Rams.
Some have speculated that Snelling to the Rams or Giants would mean the Falcons taking a look at Brown. He hails from Georgia and played at Auburn, not that any of that really matters here.
But if the Rams end up going with Brown, Snelling could find himself low on options. I'd love to see him get paid what he deserves, but am a selfish, selfish person, and if his best offer comes from the Falcons then :).
