PGA Championship 2011 TV Schedule

The field is set and the action promises to be captivating for the fourth and final major of the 2011 PGA calendar year. The PGA Championship begins on Thursday morning from the Atlantic Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia. See the full field here, and the scheduled pairings and tee times for round one here.

For those of you wondering when and where you can catch coverage of the tournament, here's the television schedule for all four days:

Round Day Date Time Network
1 Thursday Aug. 11 1-7 pm EST TNT
2 Friday Aug. 12 1-7 pm EST TNT
3 Saturday Aug. 13 2-7 pm EST CBS
4 Sunday Aug. 14 2-7 pm EST CBS

That's a boatload of coverage for golf fans out there. And something tells me that even though ratings have been down the past two years since the start of Tiger's fall from grace, this weekend could bring a lot of casual fans back into the fold. Tiger Woods is in the field, his former caddie Steve Williams just caused a stir with his comments following Adam Scott's recent triumph at Firestone. There are many sub-plots beyond that, but perhaps Woods has been missing direct and personal motivation lately. Sure, most of the outside world has turned their back on him, but the spat between he and Williams -- the best man at his wedding -- might just stir up his competitive juices in a way that we haven't seen for quite some time. Then again, maybe his game just isn't up to snuff. But I, for one, will be tuning in to see what unfolds in the early stages of the 2011 PGA Championship, hoping that there might be something special in store for the weekend in Atlanta.
