Rory McIlroy injured his wrist on hole No. 3 of the 2011 PGA Championship. He's decided to soldier on, and has made it through hole No. 5 -- which he birdied -- before driving off the No. 6 tee.
A physio in a blue polo gave him a quick checkup on the fairway, pulling and poking on his wrist before concluding the young player won't do any more damage to his wrist by continuing. If the only issue is pain and not damage, McIlroy should be able to power through. I say this not having any idea what kind of pain he's in, but rather -- well, you guys know Rory's not going to quit.
He got himself into bunker trouble on hole No. 5, leading one to conclude the wrist really is bothering him, but a fantastic up-and-down nearly gave him an eagle from quite a distance.
