Still waiting to see a single sign from the SEC that an acquisition of Texas A&M or conference realignment of any sort is in their interest, but whatever. Now that a number of important Aggies and Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe have agreed the school is at least thinking about what it might be like to change conferences, attention turns to an August 22 meeting between Texas A&M's regents.
Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News confirms the scheduling of that meeting, adding that topics of discussion must be added by August 19. Others have reported the SEC hasn't yet been included on the docket, but that it could be.
Sounds like it will likely be discussed, too, with Chip Brown of OrangeBloods.com reporting regents are "seriously studying" the potential move.
Which is many steps shy of actually attempting the move. And which would also require the SEC to be seriously studying Texas A&M in return. There's no evidence of that yet.
