2012 Georgia State Football Recruiting: QB Trent Thompson Commits to Panthers

Georgia State football received another bit of good news as the team prepares for its second season as the coaching staff received a much needed verbal from a local Quarterback prospect.  According to Thompson's Facebook page, McEachern HS Trent Thompson has verbally committed to Georgia State.

Will be a Georgia State Panther next fall!

Thompson is 6'2, 185 pound left handed Pro Style QB with very good arm strength and accuracy.  Thompson is an average athlete but makes up with very good feel for pressure and very good touch on passes.  He played in a back up role in 2010 as Senior QB Dondre Purnell got the majority of the starts for the Indians. Per Keith Niebuhr of Rivals.com, Thompson threw 14 touchdowns and only 3 INTs in limited action. is an excellent student reporting a 3.5 GPA.  Thompson committed after visiting the Georgia State practice facility this morning. 

Junior Highlights:

Thompson is the 12th prospect to commit this summer and is the 8th from the state of Georgia.  Georgia State football is expected to sign 18-20 players in February.
