SEC Expansion: Texas A&M Schedules Announcement Press Conference

Catch up in the rest of this StoryStream on where Texas A&M's attempt to join the SEC stands. And that's the correct way to put it, at this point, as the Aggies are clearly intent on leaving the Big 12 and joining the SEC, should the SEC invite them. On to the news!

The school's decision-makers are supposed to have a vote on Monday to give President R. Bowen Loftin the power to switch conference allegiances. (This means they've already decided to do just that, and you don't decide to do that unless you've got a destination in mind.) A press conference has reportedly been set for shortly after, at which A&M is expected to announce it's leaving the Big 12.

The Texas Longhorns, who've largely contributed to this whole mess by being Texas, sent out a statement on the matter Friday night expressing best wishes for their departing rivals. If you need Texas, they can be found weeping into buckets of gold while watching oil derricks spew $100 bills all over the place.

In other news! ACC commish John Swofford said he hasn't heard anything about any of his schools leaving after FSU's president assured him of some sort of loyalty. This item is not worth anything.
