Atlanta Falcons Sign UDFA Kevin Cone, According To Georgia Tech

A somewhat popular assumption: Paul Johnson's flexbone offense can't succeed at the BCS level because it can't produce NFL-caliber talent, especially at wide receiver. Sure, it cranks out receivers who are good at blocking, but it's rare for any of them to have much of a chance to produce consistent catches.

If only there were a NFL team that really loves blocking receivers. Why, hello there! The Atlanta Falcons have brought on former Georgia Tech WR Kevin Cone as an undrafted free agent, according to the school. Local pipeline established, and Paul Johnson will be so relieved to know you're now convinced he'll be able to recruit receivers.

Cone is fast, pretty big (six-foot-two, 207 pounds) and clearly doesn't mind doing work. He's used to making something out of an opportunity, too, having walked on by way of Shorter College.

There are now approximately fiftyleven wide receivers in Flowery Branch.
