NASCAR At Pocono: Joey Logano Wins Good Sam 500 Pole

Joey Logano picked a fine way to respond to speculation about his future with Joe Gibbs Racing, winning the pole for Sunday's Good Sam RV Insurance 500 at the Pocono Raceway. It is Logano's second pole of 2011 - he sat on the pole at Infineon Raceway in June - and the third of his career.

Kasey Kahne will start second, followed by Martin Truex Jr., Carl Edwards - the man rumored until this week to be replacing Logano in the No. 20 Toyota in 2012 - and Kurt Busch. Brickyard 400 champion Paul Menard was sixth. June Pocono winner Jeff Gordon tagged the wall and will start 31st unless his team swaps to a backup No. 24 Chevrolet.

The Edwards-to-Gibbs saga ended this week with the Sprint Cup point leader re-signing with Roush-Fenway Racing. Joe Gibbs Racing and Atlanta-based Home Depot had apparently made a strong push to sign Edwards to drive the No. 20 machine.
