Joey Logano is out front as the first yellow has flown over the Good Sam RV Insurance 500 at the Pocono Raceway. His Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch spun exiting turn three on lap 12 but didn't hit anything.
The third Joe Gibbs Racing driver, Denny Hamlin, has moved from sixth to second place to run behind Logano, who started from the pole and had led every lap at the time of Busch's spin. Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, and Kasey Kahne rounded out the top-five.
June race winner Jeff Gordon had only gained three spots from his 31st-place starting effort.
NASCAR moved the start of the race up by five minutes in order to try to hopefully get to the halfway point of the race. Weather is possible, with a 50% chance of showers throughout the day. NASCAR also declined to throw a schedule a competition caution - generally standard procedure when there is rain between the cars' final on-track activity and the start of the race. Busch's spin negated that move, however.
