NASCAR At Pocono: David Ragan Crashes, Denny Hamlin Leads

Georgia's David Ragan had hopes of making the Chase for the Sprint Cup after he won the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona last month. They took a significant hit Sunday, as he crashed at the Good Sam RV Insurance 500 at Pocono.

Ragan tried to get underneath David Reutimann going into turn three on lap 20 and backed his Ford into the turn-three wall. He is currently scored 37th and will be behind the wall getting repairs for a while, which will likely be big blow in his bid to be one of the two drivers who pick up the two wild-card spots into this year's Chase.

Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin is in a plenty familiar position: leading at Pocono. He overhauled Kurt Busch on lap 24 to take command of the race and has led ever since. He left his pit stall early during his first pit stop and is approximately two gallons short of fuel.
