Dan Uggla Extends Hitting Streak To 30 Games

Dan Uggla has now recorded a hit in 30 straight games. After going hitless in his first two at-bats on Wednesday night, Uggla hit a sharp grounder to Marlins shortstop Emilio Bonifacio in the fifth inning. Despite Bonifacio reaching the ball in time to attempt a throw to first base, Uggla was hustling down the line the entire way and beat the throw with relative ease.

The scattered Braves fans in the crowd of 4,000 or so at Sunlife Stadium cheered as he moved one step closer to both the Braves and Major League record. He trails Rico Carty by just one game to be tied for the all-time lead among Atlanta Braves and is 26 away from overtaking Joe DiMaggio and his 70-year old record.
